The Therapists' Therapist
As therapists dealing with our clients’ physical and energetic bodies we are used to considering the needs of our clients, making ourselves available to our clients and trying to ensure that we give our very best to make sure that our clients’ experiences with us are positive and successful. Very often, in doing so, we will forget to look after ourselves, telling ourselves that we don’t have time, or that we’re ok.
The result can be that we become tired, feeling a lack of energy and vitality, and sometimes, this goes hand in hand with a lack of focus and perspective. If this continues, it can result in illness and dis-ease, including a loss of self-confidence.
The net result is that we become less effective as therapists and healers.
We need to remind ourselves on a regular basis that healing begins with ourselves. We need to give time to ourselves and not be shy in asking for treatments from trusted therapists and healers. Sometimes even just having a conversation can help us, but a treatment or healing session can go much further and deeper and help us not only with physical imbalance, but also to overcome a block in our energies, or pattern of negative thinking, and help us to see the possibilities open to us.
We are quick to point out the benefit of our therapies and healing to our clients, but often slow to remember them ourselves. Receiving healing enables us not only to heal our clients, but to fulfil our aims and purpose and grow as healers for the benefit of all.
